How To Resist Temptation- good habits results from resisting temptations


We are surrounded by temptations. Your temptation and my temptation might remain differ but the root remains the same.
Temptation is strong, but our willpower is stronger.It will give us the grace and strength we need to walk upright.
There are few practical things we can do to grow stronger and smarter in our struggle against temptation.
 
FIRST STEP: we need to recognize temptation or we need to recognize with which things we get tempted.
Once you recognize then,then you truly resist them.



SECOND STEP:In order to resist temptation, you need a strategy in place before you even face it. 
Some ideas that i have found helpful in a strategy to resist temptation are :
  1. Chose to hang out with people or environments that will enhance your self-control. Choose to spend time with friends who live healthy and lead busy lives rather than who encourages you to go out and party. Go for hiking instead of shopping malls.
  2. Refocus your attention or find a distracting activity to do until a craving subsidies. Or think about how good you feel after workout,save money or eat healthy.
  3. Change or redirect your thoughts. For example: think deliberately about the way you behaved last time you drank too much, in order to avoid drinking now.
  4. Leave the area/place and go somewhere different. For example: stop going to places you usually smoke.
  5. Share your goals with someone who can keep you accountable.
  6. Use your will power and mental strength to avoid temptation.
